Thanks for your response. I wonder if new technologies used in therapy can make this important step more difficult? For example, in using Talkspace therapy, sessions are timed — I’ve had the experience where I would get to a particularly sensitive topic or emotion at the close of my session, but my therapist didn’t have time to effectively help me out of it before her next session, since they are often scheduled back-to-back. It’s different than, say, waiting outside a door when you know your therapist is busy with another person.
