Calling an ex “crazy” is one of the biggest red flags for me. It’s shorthand for “I don’t respect the complex emotions of this person,” and shows that they haven’t done the work (probably mutually) to figure out how to understand and meet someone else’s needs. It’s incredibly sexist to boot.

And most interestingly is that the people who call their exes “crazy” tend to run back to said ex… like you unfortunately found out as I did. If someone has that strong of emotions for their ex in any directions, it’s probably a smoking gun that something is unresolved and messy.
